Cold foil stamping: the great green innovation
Â
Expertise, performance, eco-responsibility: the stakes of luxury packaging are soaring. Wauters puts innovation at the core of the investment process to create ever more beautiful, greener packages.

From gold foil to industrial innovation
Since 1909, the Wauters family Maison has developed and enhanced its gilding know-how: first on leather, then on book covers, labels… then on high added-value cases.
Year after year, one generation after the other, the Maison’s know-how bases its investments on increasingly high-quality and high-performance processes:
- Double-function machines (gilding and embossing, offset stamping, cutting and trimming, etc.)
- High speed hot marking cylinder application, making it possible to obtain perfectly taut solid areas.
- Automated edge painting (equipment designed and developed by Wauters)
- Ultra-sophisticated coding machine combining numerous technologies to offer a customised solution to clients’ specific needs.
- CTP, initially designed to save water and recently modified so as not to use any water at all.

Cold gilding: new Wauters know-how
This year, as a matter of course, Wauters has decided to enrich its gilding offer with cold stamping thanks to the Vinfoil OPTIMA module.
It is combined with the latest generation of Heidelberg offset, the CX 104 model — more high-performance and user-friendly (with its unique and intuitive panel) —, which Maison Wauters has been first to benefit from. Thus, cold marking earns its stripes at Wauters, with a renewed technology.
Ecology and saving, quality and design, Eric Wauters, CEO of Maison Wauters, explains through images the many benefits of this double investment at a crossroads.
The entire Wauters team will be delighted to meet you at the LUXEPACK fair in Monaco at the Grimaldi Forum from 27 to 29 September, at their usual DG13 stand. You will discover in person the visual rendering of this new gilding process and its special features, as well as the range of new perspectives it opens up for the world of high-end packaging.
We’re looking forward to finally meeting you again.
